How long will it take to collect my package?
Unless your job is pre booked we aim to collect within 20-30 minutes of your call. If collections are likely to take any longer we will let you know at the time of booking or give you a call if the courier suffers any delays.
What information do I need to hand when booking a courier or getting a quote?
For quotes we need the size of the consignment plus delivery and collection postcodes. We ask the size of the consignment in order to work out what is the most appropriate vehicle size for the task and the postcodes in order that we can route the exact mileage. To accept a firm booking we need a little more information, the company and contact names at collection and at delivery and the building name or number. The more contact information you are able to supply the easier it will be for our courier and the smoother the job should go.
Can my package get 'lost in the system'?
No - your package will be delivered in a dedicated vehicle ie in the same vehicle that collects it, unless otherwise specified. We will then take your package directly to the delivery point and get a signature for it.
What happens if there is a problem along the way?
We will let you know. If our drivers experience significant delays or have any other problems that may jeopardise your delivery we will contact you and seek your advice if appropriate.
How can I pay for the service?
If you do not have a credit account with us we will ask you for payment before we undertake a job. We accept most credit and debit cards or you can pay by cheque or cash on collection of the goods. Opening a credit account is easy - simply complete and return an account application form and we will do the rest. Contact us and we will be happy to send you a form.
Is my consignment insured whilst in your care?
Yes, your goods are insured and covered by our Goods in Transit insurance. Your goods are insured at no additional cost to yourself for £15,000 per consignment, £5,000 on a motorcycle. However if your goods are worth more than £15,000 we will be happy to arrange extra cover at cost.
Are you able to transport any goods?
Most things, although naturally there are some items that we cannot cover for obvious reasons, for example radioactive waste, other items may be due to their high value for example gold bullion.
When will I get my delivery documents back?
We enclose them with your invoice (we generally invoice on a weekly basis, unless otherwise requested). Naturally if you need them back more quickly we will make sure you get them. If you have already paid via another method a receipted invoice will be sent to you for your records and any delivery documentation will also be attached.
What information is included on the invoice?
Full details of the collection and delivery address, any order or reference number, the net cost of the job, any waiting time or additional charges will be shown separately, and the full cost including VAT. We can set the invoices up so that all jobs are charged on one invoice, or alternatively we can set the system up so that each job appears on a separate invoice.
Can the invoice be personalised for my company?
Talk to a member of our Customer Services team about your requirements, most things are possible once we understand what you require.
I have a regular post run between our offices, can you organise this?
Yes, absolutely - we would be happy to quote you a competitive rate for regular contract runs.
Would Anglia Courier Express still be operational if something happened to it’s office?
Yes, we have full disaster recovery capabilities, and therefore service would not be affected.
Do you get a signature at delivery?
Yes, for all our deliveries we ensure we get a signature as Proof of Delivery (POD), this can be telephoned through to you on delivery if requested. If you need a paper copy of the POD for your records this can also be arranged on request.
Will the driver give me a receipt for my package?
Our drivers carry receipts and should always issue you with one, if not please ask for one.
Do you offer an overnight service?
No, Anglia Courier Express are a Same Day Delivery company, and although of course we are more than happy to pick up packages the afternoon or night before for delivery next day in order that the driver can deliver them early our normal charges apply.
We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When you need us just call us and we will be there to organise your deliveries.
What size vehicles do you have?
Can my package/consignment be tracked en route?
Yes we can find out the progress of your package at any stage of its journey to delivery.
What if the delivery instructions or address change and the driver is already en route to the original destination?
Not a problem, just call us as soon as you know of any change to the job and we will forward these to the driver. We will also recalculate the cost of the job and inform you of the amended charge and new ETA if applicable.
Are there any minimum volumes or minimum weekly charges at Anglia Courier Express?
No, this is certainly not being practised at Anglia Couriers unlike at some other companies. We welcome customers of all shapes and sizes with all different spends and all receive the same high level of service.
PLEASE NOTE: The phrase “From Envelopes to Elephants … We Deliver” is a metaphor used to describe the size of consignments that we are able to handle, it is our catch phrase or strap line. We do not ship live animals as we feel that this is best left to people who specialise in that field.
